Sam (she/they) is an Academic Advisor in the Department of Political Science. She is committed to meeting students where they are and supporting them with care and empathy as they navigate their academic journeys, helping them feel seen, heard, and connected to the resources that support their success. Prior to joining Pitt, Sam worked in the University of Maine System as a Confidential Resource Advisor, supporting individuals impacted by interpersonal violence. She holds a B.S. in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Management from Slippery Rock University and an M.A. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Sam is currently pursuing her EdD in Leadership and Administration at Point Park University.
