Max’s research focuses on institution building and political economy in the developing world. He specializes in comparative federalism, analyzing how variants of federal design contribute to different levels of conflict and economic development. Max is currently engaged in foundational research for his dissertation, which will focus on intergovernmental energy-sharing institutions in developing nations.
Max has served as a Teaching Assistant/Fellow for PS 0600, Political Theory.
