Join the Political Science Department and Dr. Ross Harrison for a talk on U.S. Foreign Policy toward the Middle East

September 24, 2018 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm

U.S. foreign policy towards the Middle East is almost always controversial, from the location of the embassy in Israel, to the Iran nuclear, to troop commitments in Syria. The decisions on these issues by the current administration have supporters cheering and detractors scratching their heads. Harrison will provide an assessment of the current state of affairs in the Middle East, how U.S. interests are affected by this, and what this means for the future. Looking beyond the politics that have polarized the debate on these issues, he will be provide an analysis of our current policy, what the implications of this might be, and he will suggest a constructive path forward that takes into account U.S. interests and stability in the Middle East.
